Ministry Trip and helping family

Within less than 7 hours after getting home from PA, Kent and I were on a plane to Phoenix for a pastors conference. It was for three days and then we stayed on with friends and Kent spoke in our large SS class in the church we attend there,. It was fun to see several friends as well on such a short visit. We flew home and had a few days rest.

Then we packed up to drive to Kent’s parents place. We wanted to see his oldest brother and be of some help to him as he was doing several major projects around the folks property. We were there for 3 days of work. It was long and grueling days of work but I believe we were a help to him. He and another friend of ours had taken out the older mobile home that had been the home of Kent’s grandmother and great grandmother years ago. It had been falling down and needed to be cared for. So the two guys with the help of an excavator took it out. Then Ron wanted to place the folk’s recreational vehicle onto the same site with a cover over it and other ways to make it more accessible. When we left it, wasn’t done but further along.

You might wonder about Kent after his fall a short time ago. Well he did help but was careful to not do any of the really high work. I power washed the folks RV and then re-washed by hand with a solvotion that kills the mild, mildew and algae that had been growing it. We hope putting the RV under cover will help with this problem too. We also did other little jobs and I worked in the garden some too. Kent’s sister also was there for two days so the three siblings got to talk some as well!

We stayed with a dear friend of ours too! Ed turned 90 while we were on our trip to Phoenix so we had missed his birthday party…of about 170 people. So we took him out for some prawns which he loves! At the restaurant the waitress couldn’t believe he was that age…we can’t either! He is doing pretty good and is such a really special friend! He and his wife Goldie have been like another set of parents to us and grandparents to our kids! We just love him and Goldie so much! Goldie has Alztheimers and is being cared for in a great home. So she couldn’t be with us, as in many other times.

It was a good and fast trip but we wanted to see his brother who doesn’t live around here. We will be moving our RV house there for about a month soon as well and we will be able to continue to do whatever will help them this fall.

We also got to see my oldest niece on our way back to our house. It was a great visit and none of us realized how the time flew until we decided to leave and wow it had been 4  1/2 hours ! A great visit! And since she is living in the NW now, we hope to see some more thus fall.

We pray that you are well and seeing God at work in and through you today as well.
